Why do some men and women use ky jelly and other "wet" products like that? Do some people really have a hard time getting wet? Are these products strictly for sex, or OTHER sexual purposes? I guess I just don't understand the purpose of any of these lubricants. No disgusting or rude comments please, thanks =)

There are several reasons.
For strictly genital-to-genital sex, yes, some women to actually have trouble getting wet enough for sex to be comfortable or enjoyable, especially as they get older, due to a decrease in hormones and physical functioning, so quite a lot of older women use them. You can also get special lubricants that are designed almost as sex toys - to increase the fun. Durex Condoms also make lubricants that produce a warming sensation, and others that make you tingle. In anal sex, it's essential to use a lubricant or you can cause yourself internal damage.
For non-intercourse sex acts, they come in many flavors and so can make oral sex more enjoyable for the giving partner - and also, for the receiving partner, as in a long 'session' it can be difficult to keep the mouth moist, and a lubricant can therefor increase pleasure. If masturbating (either partner alone or together) it can make it more fun, especially for a man as it feels more like sex (your hands are, of course, not naturally lubricated).
There are also other, non-sexual reasons a person may use lubricant, such as making inserting tampons easier.

Well, I am sure many people use these products for self-gratification. My wife has always had difficulty with her body producing enough natural lubrication (at least enough to keep pain and discomfort at bay during intercourse). These products have helped but often later causes a burning sensation in the vaginal area. We have resorted to using pure, virgin (no pun intended :-) olive oil. It works great, no chemicals and causes no burning. It's a lot cheaper too. We depend on this so we can enjoy intimacy.

They say that you should always use KY whenever you have sex, b/c its not good for the female to be dry during sex. I don't have any problems with it, but I have friends that had children and now have to use it every time, b/c they have have a hard time getting wet after giving birth.

As women get older and reach menopause, they tend to have less natural lubrication. Products like KY are very useful for that. There are also "other" sexual purposes they can be used for, such as anal sex or when masturbating your partner.

Many women need help getting a little wet, that is very natural, it can help so that you can heve sex more then once. After one or two time it is really hard for a women to continue getting wet. Also it helps with anal, and hand jobs. Many couples need a little help.

They are used a lot for anal sex.
Plus some of them have flavors -that's good for oral sex.
Some can be warming or have more of a tingling sensation I guess you can say too which can make regular penetration more pleasing.

me and my husband use it sometimes it just helps with s** and you can also use it when you give back rubs and stuff like that. try the stuff is great.
