Well, Bobby, there is certainly an emotional element which makes a difference. However, I believe the key factor is physical. When women cheat, another man is physically entering her body leaving his spunk - his genetic material behind. That element of possession, of physical conquest is just not present when men cheat on their women.

Its not a greater betrayal. The betrayal is equal regardless who does the cheating. In Society it is still more accepting for men to be the cheater. You would think that we were still in 1907. You have cultures where women must share their husband with other wives, but none where a woman has multiple husbands. Until other men step up to the plate and debase cheating men as they would a cheating woman, this wont change.

I don't think it's a greater betrayal: and, in fact the courts don't think so either. Some courts are starting to look at unfaithfulness as a lawbreaking offense to help stop the divorce rate. It's on the books but, has never been tested because as one put it "everyone does it, I'd rather not agree but, it's the truth. I've been married for 49 years and the thought has never crossed my mind. Maybe there's something wrong with me?

Because for a man it is more of a physical need.
For women there normally is an emotional component.
To give your body and your mind is a greater betrayal.

It is juist as wrong both ways! Some religions like Muslim allow men to have more than one wife and I am not speaking for them. I am just saying what is right for me.
