My husband and I haven't celebrated Valentine's Day for several years. Flowers are expensive and die, candy is expensive and fattening, and going out for dinner is something we enjoy when the restaurants aren't so crowded. Instead we say Happy Valentine's Day to each other and settle on a bill that can be paid with the $50.00 we've each just saved by not buying anything for the other. Real romantic, isn't it????? (yes, sarcastic but not angry)

I am Happy to say that my wife and I have not succumbed to the Valentine Day rubbish.

Life goes on, Valentines Day is for single people, Married People have Aniversaries.

Good Luck,

Rod

I'm not really doing anything. Was going to go out after work (not because its valentines just because) and then I decided I wanted to go to the gym so now I'm going to the gym and my boyf might come round so not really anything special, nothing different to any other day.

I've told my husband all I want is a card - he doesn't believe me! I think valentines day is over rated... I will send hubby a card but that's it. If you're in a relationship you shouldn't need an excuse to be nice to each other. If you're not in a relationship you don't need it shoved in your face. Enjoy - whether you are single or not.

Nothing romantic, no romance this year! Instead, spending time with single mates, doing for a couple of elderly people, then be at home with my dogs, doing uni work.
