Nobody knows where geographically specifically life first began on Earth. If you mean "human life", then yes, the earliest known fossil records of Homo Sapiens (modern man) originate from East Africa around 200,000 years ago. Homo Sapiens migrated out of Africa and replaced other (inferior) human species around the world, such as Neanderthals, for example, that lived in Europe and West Asia and became extinct over time, leaving Homo Sapiens as the only survivor in this group (see: single-origin theory, not the only theory but currently the dominant one) and gradually populating the whole Earth.
So yes, all of us Homo Sapiens have our roots in Africa. And that, by the way, is our (ie: all of us together) true race, if anyone wants to use the term "race" correctly.

Although belief during the 80s was that Africa was the birthplace of man, this has more recently been challenged! This is from the website below: 'The growing achievements of Chinese archaeologists over the past decade or so have repeatedly challenged the traditional hypothesis that human species evolved in Africa. Many believe that human evolution was diversified, some even boldly suggest that Asia, instead of Africa, is the birthplace of mankind........Jin's instincts told him that the excavation should be focused on the south of the Yangtze River because the warmer and more humid climate there was more favorable for the birth of the human race. ......If the east Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is proved to be the birthplace of human species, there would be two possibilities. One will prove that human evolution is diversified. On the one hand, human beings in Asia might have come from Africa more than 1.6 million years ago. On the other hand, it is much more likely that there was a branch of human species that independently evolved from ape to man in China in remote antiquity.' So, the question remains unanswered!

'Modern humans' first appeared in Africa then migrate to populate the world. Do you understand the word 'modern' and where in that sentence does it say humans evolved again outside Africa? In biology there is no such thing as race so you relating race to evolution has no basis. Black people White people etc are really just human not genetically different human groups so I dont know how one evolved from the other considering we live alongside each other today. The differences in race we see are only different levels of melanin in the skin, hair and extent to the eyes, different facial features and hair textures. Thats all and a species can have a variety of such things and does not indicate one group is more evolved than the other its called variation of physical features. They were caused by mutations and caused a variety around the world due to selection, genetic drift etc. Otherwise all humans are pretty much identical. Black people are also the product of mutations we all are the black people today are not the original people the first humans resembled us closest thats all.

"Life" started in the seas, not in Africa. However the gist of your question is correct in that it is now widely accepted among scientists that our species originated in Africa.
For many years there were two competing theories about human evolution - the "multi-regional" hypothesis, where different groups of pre-humans (hominins) migrated from Africa to different parts of Europe and Asia and then developed into modern humans separately, and the "out of Africa" hypothesis, where the people that migrated were already anatomically modern humans.
These days almost all scientists accept the Out of Africa hypothesis, which appears to be better supported by recent fossil finds.
For a very good animated overview of how humans migrated out of Africa to cover the whole globe, see https://www3.nationalgeographic.com/genographic/atlas.html

According to scientific theory we are all descended from a small group of homonids who lived near the east coast of Africa. There was only one continent at that time and over thousands of years mankind spread throughout the world.

Yes it is ture. It's not 'life' that started in Africa but the first human decendants came from that area. We are all African!

the evolution of man started in africa and then spread out from there. but we are not talking homo sapiens at this point, this was way before then, but theoretically yes, if you could trace your ancestors back far enough we are all africans

The general theory these days is that humans originated in Iraq. The oldest neanderthal skeletons have been found in Iraq and seems to support this theory.

that doesn't apply only to Africa. Many parts of Asia are always warm. But I believe that everyone is everyone's distant cousin.

It's been a few million years, I'd say that we are not very related to those people anymore...it wouldn't be my great great grandfather. But anyway, if they were African..so what..good, as far as I care he could be from Mars.
