Why is India poor?. Because of continuous invasions since 1000 AD until 1947. It affected it's economical, sociological and psychological conditions.

Population is not really because Indians are producing a lot of people. It's because it's an old country and it's bound to have a lot of people. You can't expect US to have the same population after say 3000 years.

What are the methods?. India has to use it's population to it's advantage. One major factor behind success of IT in India is because of it. I believe India is progressing and it's progress is affected by the corrupted politicians and external influences that are trying to destabilize the country.

Dowry system has become a habit. As India develops, this will fade away.

India is poor due to it's slow progress in development in most aspect and the language use is not common unlike the sleeping dragon also known as China. It can be stopped by some ways
1) teaches the people how to speak english where english is the international presently so that they will have a higher status to others and able to improve communications
2) open-door towards foreign investor by providing incentive or other benefits to them so that they can increase the employment rates for india
3) provide low wage worker on manufacturing side so that foreign investor will be attracted to invest on india hence improve India economy.
4) If have sufficient capital , try to build up better infrastructure to improve the transport within the country so that the foreigin country invested factory or company can transport well within or for the purpose of export

Who said India is poor? Who's buying corus and novelis?
You are looking at only one part of the system. Another part is very rich. Poverty and royalty will be equally spread all over.
So many multinational companies are creating job opportunities in India. Job is there, you need to have absolute passion or willingness to work.
Individual determination only can stop the dowry system. Nothing else.

It is poor because there is no incoming income to the economy's coffers. Government (not proven) might had a hand in it.

To have more jobs, you need to access as a person what is UNDESIRABLE about your country. Is there a high value export in your country? Is incoming consumer goods greater than your export?

Crimes: too many ladies get mobbed and raped on the streets.
Pollution: not too sure, but maybe one of the factor.
Reliability of the people, educational level of population.
Geographic factors and country facilities, like a biomedical hub, IT hub, silicon valley etc... seaports, airports.
Labour price, cheaper to hire professionals in your country then other countries?
Intellictual properities security? Is a country safe from pirates?

Other smaller things, subsidy from governments for certian sectors could boost more jobs.

This is like 1% of factors that effects investor decision to come.

1)Because God allowed Muslim Rulers and Britishers to loot our wealth for centuries and make our rich people and culture poor.
2)Because God allowing our politicians and people to pursue their ambitions with out any concern for the downtrodden masses in the country.
3)Because God allowing our judiciary to drag the legal disputes for decades ,enjoying their summer vacation (as our British rulers and Lords have enjoyed in the days when fan or A/C was not available.
4)Because God allowing corruption in the country to prosper.
5)Because God allowing our media to write as they like and not an iota of truth, favouring their masters for monetary gains.
6)Because our people are not united to throw corrupt politicians out of power.
7) Because our people are more selfish than the politicians in getting admission for their children by bribing and most of our youths are for money with out work in the name of dowry system and our girls not opposing dowry system and ready to wait and choose the right man of their choice instead of the choice of their parents.

We can list out millions of reasons but BASIC EDUCATION TO ALL WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEMS ONE

well simple enough . the problem is overpopulation . Way to
solve the problem is to use contraception during intercourse to prevent any unwanted pregnancies. As far as less jobs go once again the problem is overpopulation.
