Is it just me or have you noticed the small, narrow eyes that Irish people have even though they've got caucasian faces???

Is it maybe because they have mongoloid extraction? Or is it something else??? Plz explain.

Maybe not all of them have the above features, but all the Irish people I've seen and known personally and on the TV seem to have those features.

I am batting my Irish Chinese-like eyes at you, ET. : )

Ok, I'm back. I couldn't find ANYTHING on this after searching for half an hour. I'll look in some books that I have and if I find something I'll get back with you.

Mongols did invade Europe in the 1200's but not near the British Isles. Bloodlines could have spread, though. But, I can't find anything on the genetics. That's kind of odd, too, considering how much is being done these days in DNA field study.

How do you figure Gaelic people have small slanted eyes? Most of the Gaelic people I've seen have medium to fairly large eyes, and slanted downward. They are kind of squared or trapezoidal - very different from Asian eyes. But, no matter. Whether there are some shared features or not, the notion of race is fairly artificial anyway. Archaeologists in the Americas have found skulls and skeletons with caucasoid, ******* and asiatic features. Genetically, there is more variation within any so-called "race" than between the races.

the fact that their eyes are like this is not linked to any relationship with asiatic people. what is happening is convergent evolution. over many generations the irish have developed scrunched up eyes because of the constant rain and drizzle. in the past irish people who did not have the ability to scrunch up their eyes were blinded by the constant fine mist of rain and bumped into things, often leading to an early demise. this in turn meant that the 'scrunchy eye gene' became the dominant gene amongst the irish. the irish are also beginning to develop webbed hands and feet. some leading evolutionary biologists think that the irish will eventually evolve into a fully aquatic sub species of homo sapiens, ' homo sapiens splashus gurglens'. but some critics of this hypothesis have pointed out that the fact that the irish cannot stop talking so if they do take to life in the water most of them will drown because they cannot keep their mouths shut. yours sincerely, prof. heinrich von doodlebug PhD. media studies and juggling (lost in the mail).

I dont see their features as that, and I doubt that gaelic people have any bloodlines rooting back to asia.
