guru waz a good one.
mani ratnam's films r quite different in their stories than the usual run-of-the-mill stories.
i'm not really a fan of his..but some particular movies of his were interesting..

Plot is a good chronicle at best, of the visionary long due commendation for the dreams he made come true. Dhirubhai. Through the flak of what he earned to where his name has brought (through the divisions of) his company, it would go down well that a man was remembered by a 'chronicling' industry for his efforts and work that was built with plain hard work, without ancestral tributes!
But again, the plot lacks a lot of essentials and adds to itself many a number of extras. A waste - almost - of actors and talents. Aishwarya wasted. Could have moulded the character much better. Madhavan, the prolific chocolate boy who dishes out the truth syrup to the world, wasted - could have been any other guy cast on the character. Or perhaps then, it was simply the character that, despite its weight, ran short of being anything but Madhavan. In other words, it simply wouldn't have existed if he didn't! What a waste of a cast then!!

I'm a fan of Mani ratnam and his movies and also Suhasini's. His movies are sensible and have lot of inner meaning in it. GHuru was average.

One of his fan would be me b'coz he uses the media spsly films to show us ideal which can change the living std of young gen.
And about GURU it is a fabolous movie if u hav'nt saw that go and watch it. U will also be impressed by his idealistic thinking.

i am.the way he handles sensitive issues in his movies is inspiring.take bombay,yuva they are beautifully and thoughtfully made movies.his movies have masala as well as a message.Guru however hasnt matched his style.it seems more of a biopic. no matter how much he denies it. it is a replica of the late dhirubhai ambanis life story
