But calculators really are difficult to get your head around! I've tried it many times when I was at school, even clearing my desk apart from having the wee machine in the middle - and then smacking my head into it hard as I could. It sometimes stuck to my forehead and certainly left a deep imprint, but always fell back down onto the desk again. I've since tried the more evolved calculators as well, from Palm and Ipaq PDA's to full blown laptops, flat screens and server farms. As a result, I might have lots of IT experience and a decent salary, but ask me what 1 +1 is and I'll bash yer heid too.

I am guessing that you want an honest opinion. I believe that the people who call you names are jealous of you because you are smart. I am intelligent but realize not the most intelligent in my unit although I believe I am one of the nurses tho takes the best care of the patient by doing little things like fluffing pillows, combing hair, brushing teeth, giving back rubs. If there is a medical question I don't understand I will ask one of the doctors or nurses who are more intelligent whether they think I am an idiot or not. I don't care what they think of me because I take meticulous care of my patients while they think eating breakfast and talking about what they are going to do after hours is more important. That is their business. I do not care for those who are more intelligent and look down their noses at those of us who actually do the real hands on work because we care rather than stand around and drink coffee because they feel like they know all the answers and their patients should be lucky because they have such smart nurses but their hair is not combed and their mouths are dirty and are not turned like they should be. ANYWAY, MY POINT TO YOU IS THAT IF YOU ARE ACTING LIKE ONE OF THESE HOLIER THAN THOU PEOPLE THEN THAT IS WHY YOU ARE GETTING MADE FUN OF. AND IF YOU CALL THEM TAPIOCA BRAINS THEN YOU ARE BRINGING YOURSELF DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL OF INTELLIGENCE. So, I would say no you are not justified. A better idea to get along is to teach them things they need to know about their jobs and they will have a lot more respect for you rather than insulting them because they are not as intelligent as you are. They may even be able to teach you a thing or two. I learn a lot of things from the kids just coming out of school because it had been a long time since I was in Nursing School. Good luck.

Ehm.. You are justified to, i mean, they call you an Egghead because you are so intelligent. Maybe you are not justified to either because it might offend them. No one likes to be called a Tapioca Brain, right? In other words, i could care less.
Have a nice day!

Why not go for the obvious, and something a little more on their level of understanding...Sh-t for brains?
