I know it sounds a stange question, but I want to write a message on a picture of the moon. I want it to look curved, as if it is actually on the moon, and I want it to look as if it has been written in moon rocks. Any tips much appreciated.

You can type in the letters using the text tool, but put each letter on a separate layer. Create new blank layers under each text layer and merge each text layer onto separate blank layers. This turns the editable text into images that you can transform/distort.

Position the individual letters on the moon as you would do in a curved fashion. Once that's done, distort each letter using transform tools to get the right curvature and effect.

Once you're happy with the way the letters look in relation to each other and in relation to the perceived curvature, you may want to merge all the letters into one layer, magic wand the letters and modify the actual moon image using the selection so that the effect of the text is more subtle, making it more realistic looking. You could even make it look as it it's carved on the surface of the moon if you're good at applying shadows..

Obviously: first flatten the image, in 'layer'. Then 'T' to put the text on, click where you want the first letter and type.
Then: Right click over the letter as scroll down to 'warp text'. If you want the text warped in different directions- ie. moon craters, you're gonna have to do each letter individually!! Good luck!
