No, you are not going crazy. You are young and probably very busy and you most likely do not get enough sleep. Sounds just like me when I was...well when I thought I was 26. What I did was on the very day that I turned 25, I thought I was turning 26. I actually believed that for the entire year. And on the day that I actually going to turn 26, my friend mentioned that I was going to turn 26, and I told her that I was turning 27. She made me do the math (we had known each other a long time and she was my age), and guess what? I was only 25, turning 26!!! And guess what I did for a living? I was a Statistical Reports Analyst. Go figure.....
The funny thing is that when asked, I tell people that I was never 25, but that I was 26 twice.
By the way, I made this mistake because I was young, too busy, too tired due to lack of sleep over an extended period of time. But, I was not crazy...

You are normal. Brain farts happen. After it happened to me a few times I just started rounding up my age to the next five year mark as a default answer. When I got to about thirty five, I stopped forgetting my exact age. I talked to several other people about it, it seems like a common phenomenon. Along with forgetting age in your twenties, do you seem to forget where you put your keys? I don't have links to studies, but you probably don't have anything to worry about. And, you might be right. It could be you are pushing yourself to hard.

Simple... you sometimes don't care how old you are for as long as you can still do the things you want to do; especially the ones you love to do. As if you feel like you could just easily fit or feel fitting to any activity that (mostly) attracts your attention. This thought rather causes you to become somewhat hyper... thus becoming sleepless (I assume). Eventually, you feel like you're becoming restless, which then reminds you to ask yourself how old you really are to enable you to determine whether if it's right for you to feel such restlessness or not. That question sometimes just pops into your mind unexpectedly; thus finding yourself dumbfound of the simple detail which you definitely would assume you wouldn't get wrong.
Trust me, you're not going crazy. Get some sleep, my friend.

It means that you're living life fully and a number doesn't matter to you. I totally agree with your forgetfullness because I do it all the time-----although my mother LOVES to remind me how old I am or if I give the wrong age.
I think I'm younger than my birth certificate says, so I think that is what is important.

oh no thats not a big deal, its pretty normal i think. absentmindedness can happen to peopel at any age, does nto mean youre losing your mind, just means youre under stress or have a lot on your mind. i´m 21, i sometiems tell peopel 20, or have to think about it first. i also regularly forget that i´m not an only child ( i have a sister) and i also forget peoples names with alarming frequency. it just means that these little details are not important to me. lol.

It happens to me sometimes too. Don't worry about it. It can be tough to remember at times - it seems like the number changes every year. Oh wait...
