My husbands gran died in 1997 [england] She left a will for who was to inherit the house which was then worth £240.000. How can I find a copy of this?

You need to contact the Probate Registry (a branch of the Court system). For a small fee (I think it's currently around £5) they will carry out a search to see if probate was granted in this lady's estate. You will need to give the Court her full name, address at the date of her death and date of death.

Probate is the 'authority' granted to the Executors to enable them to deal with the assets. Provided probate was granted the Probate Registry will be able to provide you with a copy of the Will, which will show who was to benefit from the estate. The Executors will also be named in the Will. If your husband believes that he has not received his inheritance I suggest in the first instance he writes to the Executors.

If probate was not granted you will not be able to obtain a copy of the Will.

first of all u have to know who is her attorney. and if ur husband one of them inside the will u dont need to look the copies the attorney may send you that will
