Your right washing them in cold will help keep the color.
Also if you line dry them it will help keep the color longer.

I've heard that if you add vinegar to the very first time you wash them, it'll help seal the color. But I don't know if that's true or not because I never remember that advice before the first wash, and it's probably too late for you, too!

The only other thing you can do is not dry them all the way. Dry them about 20-25 percent and hang them up to air-dry the rest of the way.

Wash in cold water with 20 mule borax.The borax is found around the laundry det. at wal-mart.

You can buy washing liquids especially for black or dark colours Dreft is the one i use
just wash them normally it stops the colour fading

Washing your pants in vinegar is right, I do it all the time, wash in vinegar than wash again in plain cold water.

hand wash them in 30c, with Woolite rinse and drip dry , yes I know it´s for washing jumper´s, but every so often keeps them nice and soft

try washing it in cold water ( temp to be 13`C)... or ice wash..this kind of wash will minimize the clr bleeding...... better take it ur local laundry and ask them to fix the clr... just tell them to use clr fixing agent while washing ...........
