Log in to your router and check the dhcp clients table, one way you could do to prevent anyone from using your internet connection is to do mac filtering, most common linksys, dlink etc routers will let you do that. Make sure that you use the mac address on your computer otherwise you will lock yourself out of your router. To find out your mac address just go to start, run, cmd type in ipconfig /all you should see something that says physical address and look something like this 00:4D:54:DE:21:67. Hope this helps...

The wireless router should have a page which displays current connections. Mine does, and yours should as well. If its password protected, it would be highly unlikely that anyone else would be using it. If you really want to be sure that no one else can use your router, then turn on MAC address filtering on your router.

Type ipconfig in your run box and enter or go to your router page and it will show you all the connections.
