This totally depends upon ur interests. If u are good in communication skills then opt for Mkting/sales.

if U are a serious/ silent types (dont mind) the finance is ok. moreover finance MBA will ask for more effort 4m an engg graduate.
whereas mkting MBA will be fine.

Goin to HR / IT will be a waste.

I am self BE E&C Mtech E&C and MBA Mkting.
So consider my advice.

MBA is good but it depends where you do it from.

If you want to get a top job in finance in i(nvestment banking or financial markets you have to do your MBA from a top 20 school.

If you want to go into industry (work for a big company like Sony or Microsoft or whatever) then maybe top 30 will be fine. But below that you will not get that much benefit from it.

In Europe and Canada try the top 10 only.

If you want more advice (from those who are in the same situation as you try the Businessweek website and go to their B-School section and register for their forum).

(I am not trying to be a snob and say MBA schools rated below top 30 are bad - but the above is what i gathered from my friends who have done MBAs in Europe and North America)

Good luck
