Any good dictionary tells you that a word is past tense of the verb.
grow - it grew, have - I had,
speak - I spoke,
throw - I threw, eat - I ate,
sing - I sang, meet - I met,
write - I wrote, give - I gave,
run - I ran, bid - I bade,
do - I did , sit - I sat,
am - I was draw - I drew,
steal _ stole hide - I hid,
lend - I loan drink - I drank,
bring - I brought, catch - I caught,
sell - I sold, fly - I flew,
buy - I bought, shoe (a horse) - I shod,
seek - I sought, bleed - I bled,
flee - I fled, ring - I rang,
feel - I felt, hang - hung (or hanged),
think - I thought, fling - flung,
make - I made sting - stung,
drive - I drove go - went,
sink - I sank tell - told.

I hardly ever see it spelled spelt! I suppose both are correct but I prefer spelled. I did a spell check for this answer and it stated spelt was not correct! :)
