I've been on birth control but it doesnt work anymore. I've been put on Provera but it makes me sick. Is there anyone else like me. I hope someone can help.

I would recommend consulting an endocrinologist if you haven't done that so far in addition to talking to your primary care physician to see about doing the entire thyroid panel if that hasn't been done yet. Problems with our thyroid can affect our cycles too.

One thing is that I have seen in provera is that some women will have periods all the time. Some women may experience irregular bleeding for up to two years when they are on Depo Provera. Side effects such as acne and moodiness are due to the progesterone in the shots and may continue indefinitely as long as a person is receiving the Depo Provera shots. Other side effects often associated with Depo Provera are dizziness, nervousness, headache, stomach discomfort, reduced calcium stores in the bones, and fatigue. If you are concerned about the severity of the side effects you are experiencing. You have been having this for 10 years you may want to go to another birth control nethod that doesn't have so much hormones. Also you may want to go to the pill only becuase you won't have those side affects. I bet you have been spending a lot of money. Good luck.
