although chatrooms are made for fun , sharing knowledge but when you enter all you can get is bunch of creeps flirting.....checking out each others a** on web-cams.....what do u people think ?

it's hard to say why do they do that. I really think it is horrible, the most despicable thing ever going, it's obnoxious, and traumatizing. Now tell me, this the good we get from advanced technology? People use the knowledge they have towards wickedness, a very sad scene.
Invasion of privacy is another thing.
I wish this would stop.
I also think this all about repressed sexual desires of those people that they can't have in real life maybe because they have a lot to cover about themselves(physically-maybe they are not good-looking enough)or mentally, and psychologically whatever the case may be.
This has something to do with inferiority complex. With the knowledge they have on computers, they feel they are in control, more superior behind that window or camera, as we sometimes can't see them.
Computer literacy is good. But I have been having the feeling that the use of this can be corrupted by knowledgeable mind.

When people where a mask they can put on a persona that is unlike themselves. When people go onto the Internet it can sort of be like a mask and they will act differently. People believe with a "mask" they can appear to others as something else but the only person they fool and change is themselves.
As for playing with emotions that ability boost ones ego. To have the power to toy with another human being gives that one the ability to seem more powerful. If they don't see it as anything wrong they will only continue to do it over and over again.

That's the reason i am not interested in chat room as we don't know who is the person on other side. He or she may be good but at the same time dangerous also and it is little bit difficult also to caught hold of the person who has played with ur emotions or its too late.

If you are adult and in good mental and physical health than you should not get trap in emotion attack. The world is free for express ideas, emotion and act. It is quite possible that my step is not good in favour of Mr. A but may in favour of Mr. B and Mr. C. So if Mr. A is hurt than this his mistake to get trap.

Because this is what people do in "real" life. Chat rooms, message boards, Yahoo! Answers (to a lesser extent), etc. are merely different types of platforms for people to do what people do best -- make each other miserable.

I think chat rooms should never be taken seriously. They are usually full of lonely/ desperate people who like to get off on doing strange things.
My advice is to avoid them... I do. Y/A is different not quite a chat room

people in chat rooms play with others emotions just because the other person cant see them! or even know them! so they have the advantage of doing pretty much anything they want to other people without worrying about it too much.

Every parents try to teach good things to their childs but wen childrens grow up and they meet people who are doing bad things.....they are attracted to them.......bcz they had never done such bad things........n they get habbitual of it.
About ur qs......same ans......every person is not good, or they dont wanna be good....so they do tease others may be on mail/chat/social community....bt dont worry all are not same.....u wil definately get good friends on chat also. So try...and dont give up

Very good questions dear. You are very much right. I had experienced that in chat ROom so many male saying they are female and playing with males. and like vice verse. So in my opinion its fake friendship on net. Its waste of time
