don't wear it! unless u use a very good moisturiser that will prevent dry skin. and u should use a cotton pad and just glide it over ur face, or a foundation brush, and u can use ur fingertips. make sure u smooth the foundation over ur face outwards. and don't put too much foundation on, u'll look very dry and unnatural! so keep it to the minimum. and if u do use 2 much then dab it with soft tissue to take off the excess. no7 radiant glow foundation is very good and u only need to use a little bit and very good with normal/dry skin. powder dries ur skin a lot. but if u have a shiny area it does help but make sure u get the right shade since the wrong shade will make u look very pale and ghostly. Avon foundation is quite good as well.
Good luck!!! :)

Hi I dont like dream matte mousse coz one thing if you have dry skin it will show up using this, I also dont like it because of the greasyness it leaves on the suface of myskin. It gives me spots also. You suppose to wear it on its own as with this foundation i think its suppose to act as a powder also which is why when you use face powder on top it goes like this. I dont use any of the mousses now.
Ive got into using tescos make-up by Barbara Daily its oil free and covers really well better than any make ive tried and ive tried everything. Its only £5 and doesnt dry skin or cause blemishes. It leavves you with a soft and smooth complextion even on the driest bits of the face.

I say BIN the dream crap mousse and get your self some of this stuff. Ive got a whole pot left and it cost me £6 and i aint going to use it again so i mayswell through mine away too.

Definitely don't wear powder on top. Apply lightly with your fingers as they blend the foundation much better than a sponge. After applying foundation I always lightly run a tissue across my face to take of any excess that is lying on the surface.

I haven't tried the Maybelline mousse foundation, but I do use the No7 and that is great for me as I have oily skin.

The best thing to do is go and speak to someone at a beauty counter in your local Boots or department store and get them to recommend something for your skin type.

I haven't tried Maybelline but I have used the Boots No. 7 mousse foundation and it also dried my skin badly. Don't put powder on top, it will show up your dry skin even worse.

I think the winter makes my skin really dry too - central heating, cold wind etc. - come on spring time!

I think the Maybelline is supposed to be used on its own, & I think the best way to apply any foundation is with your fingers. I didn't find that it made my skin dry as such, but I thought the coverage a bit too matt, so I use it as a concealer..it's very effective!

ive found that the rimmel one is even worse and doesnt even look like im covered properly and i put a bit of benefit bluff dust on top at my forehead cos it gets a bit red and it went horrible and cakey and i tried to fix it and it looked like a layer of skin almost.

i prefer the dream matte mousse but only with moisturiser.
need to get a new foundation

I noticed this , it made my skin very dry but now i wear moisturiser underneath it and put loose powder on top , that seems to work .

I always use simple moisturiser before applying mousse and I use the foundation sparingly as it looks so much more natural.

I dont think it needs powder coz it's got powder on its own. As for the dryness, it may be because you have dry skin and you need a product with a bit more oil. cheers!
