Yes, if you are a politician.

No, if you are an every day person. In every day life we crack jokes and laugh about how stupid political correctness has become.

Mostly it is the liberal media who is to blame. Because they promote racism and stereotyping. Let say there was an accident at an intersection where a car hit another and there was an explosion. Now 99% of the black people in the area could give you an intelligent answer to what happened. Something along the lines of "Well the driver of the Toyota ran the red light and hit the Ford and moments later there was an explosion, which shook the ground and flames engulfed the area."

But the liberal media searches for the black person with his waste band right above his personals and his boxers hanging out who can hardly speak street slang to interview. "Yeah I was hanging with me hommies and suddenly there was this big noise, and people was screamin and hollerin and we didn't know what the F*** was goin on." And some people sitting at home who don't have very much interaction in real life with black people start thinking that all of them are this way.

Yes.

It is one thing to call people or ethnic groups by slang names but it is another to call others behavior or description by a different name altogether.

For example: Manic Depressant to Bi-polar?
Mentally Retarded to Mentally Challenged? Midget to Little People?

Now, I for one do not see the harm in this. However, I also grew up in a time when we took responsibility for our actions. So I can understand why words can hurt.

This however does not change the way things are. Calling someone by a different name will not change the way they are or help change the way the world sees them.

If a person is a caring one, he/she will not think anymore or less of the person. As for the not so nice people, trying to hide your true feelings will only hurt the person in the long run.

This however does not get to the real reason why I think this is getting out of hand. I did not realize how far back this problem went. This is not just about not hurting feelings but goes back to a time where in the Soviet Union it was politically incorrect to speak out against party lines.

Was this not the case in the war in Iraq when President Bush basically stated that speaking out againest this was politically incorrect? So in a sense, I guess the Dixie Chicks were gulity of this.

So in one sense of not hurting ones feelings, I agree with the rule but in the case of freedom of speech, perhaps we should examine this way of thinking before we let it become worst than what it is today.

Political correctness is killing society. I do not know who started this, but it has gotten way out of hand. I for one do not buy into it anymore. I thought the Taco Bell chihuahua was so cute and then they had to stop making those commercials....how stupid is that.....the world is nuts and I think I am one of the few sane ones left.....everyone walks around like little robots afraid to say or do anything because it might not be politically correct....someone did a good job of brainwashing the masses of people in the world...the general public has gotten to the point where they are going to be an easy pushover to follow the Anti-Christ when he arrives.

Definitely. It's gotten to the point where every group unless you're a white bread middle class Caucasian Christian is "offended" by the most minor utterances. If this isn't a form of no free speech Communism, I don't know what is. Communism was supposed to be nearly destroyed by the fall of the Soviet Union. Instead it turned up like a bad penny over here.

Yes, and you can mostly blame the loony toon left wing liberal media for this. You can't call a spade a spade anymore without offending everyone. It seems that you can't open your mouth without offending somebody. I think that the biggest problem these days is not global warming...it's global stupidity, and lack of common sense.
