Because the people trying to sing can't sing and we all love Simon Cowell take the P*ss out of them all.
People like to be entertained especially if they like brain dead TV. I personally don't watch it.
But I don't know why they do it, as the singers never last more than 5 minutes when they win the tournament!!!
I think it's about time they came up with something new.

Because people like to laugh at other people's pathetic singing abilities and love to watch simon and randy skin them.people also like to root for the underdogs and listen to good singers.

You're not missing anything. I yawned through one episode just to see what the hooya was all about. It's a dumba** show in my opinion.

it's because people are sheep. they'll follow what ever is in right now. how else do you think 36 mafia won an academy award? and survivor is still on? mass media kills your ability to think properly.
