To start with put ice cubes on the remainder of the wax. This will facilitate maximum removal of bits as it helps to chip it off.
THEN kitchen paper towels with iron on cool setting till they show no sign of grease.
Then a dab with a warm sponge with a little washing up liquid. Rinse and allow to dry.
Finally, application of White Wizard (Lakeland/ Kleeneze). That should crack it. Good luck.
Brown paper bags often no longer work any more because they have been coated with a substance that makes them waterproof, so non absorbent. Good luck!
PS. On returning to fill in source section later, I notice the posts which follow mine.
The wax is NOT softened by ice, quite the reverse. It makes it brittle and more easily removable.
Greaseproof paper is absolutely useless. It is non absorbent and will spread the stain.

Use a piece of brown paper and a cool iron, place paper over wax and then place the cool iron on the paper the wax melts the paper draws up the wax. be careful use just enough heat to melt the wax or you'll burn the carpet. Also don't use newspaper it leaves ink stains. May work with plain A4 printer paper as well but I've not tried it.

Well hard to get a carpet in a freezer which is best way of getting it off small items, chips off when it's frozen. You could try brown paper and a warm iron - may do it. Try putting candle in a candle holder next time to catch the wax :-) Will be interested myself to see what other answers you have!

properly i will not use ice dice on the carpet reason gained't paintings in any respect. different aspect i wouldnt use water wont paintings both reason it will make the carpet get moist and keep the wax from the candle too sticken. so i'd attempt to se youre personal fingers to tug it off or if doesnt paintings then i'd use sissors to diminish it little bit to take off the dried wax from the carpet. no longer alot basically the area you spot basically throw it away. basically bypass again to the carpet to make certain if there some thing lacking if no longer then at the same time as she comes domicile after her holiday she wont even releazie there wasnt some thing on the carpet in any respect.

Scrape off the hard bits . Then cover the affected area with a piece of brown parcelling paper and iron it. The remaining wax should melt into the paper.

~Let the wax harden, then scrap off the excess with a dull knife.
~Place part of a paper bag, a sheet of newspaper, paper towels, or a clean cloth over the wax.
~Using a warm iron, press gently on the paper bag. Be careful not to leave the iron in one place too long or you may burn the carpet fibers.
~Voila! The paper bag will soak up the melted wax.

Buy a rug and put over it.
Next time your feeling like candle light buy some Xmas lights they don't mess the carpet and are romantic.
or was it a case of you have not paid your electric bill.
You really should keep an eye on candles you know as leaving them for long periods can cause a fire or make a real mess of your carpet along with the walls and ceiling.
