It's not that surprising, but to me it's kinda rare..
coz people who listen to these type of music are esoteric..
you had the curiosity or interest in them, and you did go for them..
just like i did 'cept that black metal.. which bands do you listen to?

What Does Race have to do with it. It is like asking, Is it ok for a Fat White boy(Me) to listen to Gangsta Rap??. If you like it you like it. And Welcome to the Hardcore World of Rock fans. (EDIT) Garfield up there is an ***. But He is sorta right. That does kinda go against the grain a bit. I would Cut out the Death and Satanic Metal and just Stick to the Hard Rock. Not as Blasphemous. (EDIT) British Too. One of the Best Rock and Roll Countries. You should try listening to old School stuff from that side of the Pond like Pink Floyd or Led Zepplin. Even The Beatles or Oasis.

I think you listening rock has nothing to do with the colour of your skin. For example many caucazian people listen hip-hop or oriental music or whatever. What worries me is that you listen Satanic rock although you say you are a christian. This kind of rock will pull you away from God and a normal life, you will end up hating everybody and having no self esteem. It can ruin your life, believe me.I had a period when I listened to that kind of rock,I hated everybody and wanted many people to die.The music influences you sooooo much...Maybe the rithm sounds good but try to don't get carried away because when you enter under Satan's command it's unlikely to ever get out of.Bye!

Honestly..every christian I meet, don't follow their beliefs, but preach to others, I always tell them "practice what you preach"! Bunch of hypocrites. Anyhow, I am not talking about you, I just had to vent that out. It doesn't matter to me if you are a christian or a satanist or your own goddess, that is YOUR soul. Free will! Anyhow, welcome to my world, I see nothing wrong with metal. People are just ignorant and don't understand it. Metal expresses nothing more than what we feel deep inside. What we suppress. That's all, at least for me. And its a life style, at least for me. Anyhow, yeah I don't see too many black girls or guys listen to metal, but its fine with me, cause I want more people to be more open about it, and stop thinking that its all about Satan...stupid fools!!

I am an ordained minister and I love rock, metal and punk music. I am a huge fan of bands like Napalm Death, Nightwish, Motorhead, Charon, Sirenia, Lordi and Metallica. I think that anyone can like any kind of music and that you have great taste.

It's cool. For a 37 year old guy, I've got a CD collection that leaves most people scratching their heads.

Iron Maiden next to Abba next to John Denver next to Slayer next to Sir MixAlot. All depends on what you like.

every one is so fake... its very suprising for a black person to listen to extreme metal even more so for a women even if it is main stream death metal like cannibal corpse or morbid angel its still suprising. so any one that says it isent suprising lives in a very strange place

not at all...
in SA most of the people in the black community listen to house, rnb, gospel, jazz, kwaito and rap...
i on the other do like those too, but i've shocked many a neighbours pumping pop, rock and all they figure to be white music...lol

PS: oh, i'm black...just one two many shades lighter though. lol

I don't think its strange at all.
Your taste in music is not defined by your skin tone or ethnic origin.

Who would expect a pasty little white girl like me to be a hardcore rap fan who also likes heavy metal.
