To win is the basis of the American culture. Everything done in America, economically, religiously, secularly, personally is based on who's the best or whose way is the right way which boils down to winning.

Yet, you can't just label the American culture as having monopoly in this type of thinking.

This type of thinking is everywhere human beings have a foothold (governments, dictatorships, religion). It's all about who has won.

The alpha male, the alpha female, there's always going to be someone lower hence, not in charge because they haven't "won" the right.

I think competition is good for us. It makes us work harder and be better in the long run.
