Yes, usually pregnancy test show up positive after the 1st day of your missed period. Some even detect the hcg hormone 4-7 days before your missed period. I took it 7 days before and it was clear as day +, however, not everyone shows up even 4 days early. Your pregnancy test should come up positive if you are. However, if it is negative and you still do not get a period, I would take a blood test at your doctors office.

They work better the longer you wait after the day your period is due - there is a higher level of the pregnancy hormone in your body for it to detect.
