I have another alternative for you. School should be abolished altogether. Then there would be NOTHING but homework. This would allow for a natural form of learning that encourages your engagement and enjoyment of education. I learn very poorly, listening to a teacher discoursing several disjointed thoughts. A good educational book is a coherent reference of all you need to know. This is where true education occurs.

Homework enforces what is learned in the classroom. It gives students an oppurtunity to put into practice what they have learned. It also gives students incentive to pay attention and participate in class work.

it helps me to know my weak points in math b/c not every student gets to answer all the exercises in class.
it helps me to remember what the teacher said in class b/c i get to read the lesson at home to do the homework.
finally i get to open my backpack in a place other than school.
we -students-hate homework but we need it to improve our skills
