My mate fancies a fella and from what I can see he likes her too, but they're both really shy. Should I intervene & send a v-day card with her number, letting him know she's unaware of the card but would like a text (which i know for a fact), and see if he responds? Or should I keep my nose out? I would never have considered doing anything like this before but I think its a pity they could miss out on something that could be special because of their shyness.

Nose out, unless at least one gives you permission.

Leave it alone... If they're adults, they will decide for themselves. Although you had the best intentions there is too much room for error! Instead maybe encourage your friend to make a move.

well, i guess you could kinda help...don't do anything dramatic...that would make someone feel obligated to respond. Just simply call them to meet you somewhere....when they show up....introduce them to each other...then take off...telling them to have a good day...they have nothing else to do but talk....soon enough they will catch on to your little game...then maybe down the road...many years later...you all could laugh over the story...over dinner.
