I'm not entirely sure what this means from an implementation standpoint, but I think the answer would be "no" in any sense.

Ants are not going to mobilize politically and suddenly rise up to establish some sort of political system, so in the sense of taking over the world from that perspective, the answer is obviously no.

If you mean take over the world in the sense of overwhelming the ecosystem with their presence, the answer is also no. There is a limit to how many ants the global ecosystem is able to tolerate, and environmental balances prohibit the world from becoming a gigantic anthill, beehive, bird's nest, etc.

If they were given and able to handle nuclear weapons, I think they'd take over the world in a month at the most. It may not seem like it, but a colony of ants is actually an empire. And besides, they're already taking over picnics worldwide. So, yeah I think so.

only if they were as big as dogs. it's interesting though, if the human race was wiped off the planet tomorrow, the earth would heal itself and go on self-regulating and evolving as always. if ants were wiped off the planet tomorrow, the entire ecosystem would eventually collapse.
