See, with prayer, anything is possible...and YES, I do pray for peace all the time.

Great headline. We should all fell relieved but we should also beware of the con job happening here.

It was also a great headline many years ago when Prime Minister Chamberlain of Great Britain signed a similar agreement with Nazi Germany in which the following happened:

Chamberlain confronted the threat to peace posed by Germany and Italy. Seeking to appease Adolf HITLER and Benito MUSSOLINI, he first negotiated a treaty with Italy accepting the conquest of Ethiopia on condition that Italy withdraw from the Spanish Civil War. Turning to the Czech question, Chamberlain conferred with Hitler and Mussolini. In the Munich pact (1938), signed also by France, Chamberlain accepted Hitler's territorial claims to predominantly German areas of Czechoslovakia. Though Chamberlain assured Britain that his concession had brought "peace in our time, Hitler soon broke his agreement and occupied the rest of Czechoslovakia.

We can see how this was broken and World War II was started. Signing agreements is a good first step but look at the other nations that were involved. Not all of these four nations have a great love of the United States.

How much did we really accomplish or solve with this treaty? China would have not let North Korea get away with many more nuke tests. China is perhaps the winner in this sense as they were the ones that had been giving the most aid to North Korea but now the US will be giving lots which gives China even more room to flex her muscles.

Peace is the true goal we seek. Agreements are a good start. Prayer is also a way to help with the worlds' woes.

The bottom line however is "When are we going to smarten up as a race and see that we are all in this together and quit trying to kill ourselves".

The headline I want to see: Peace finally comes to the whole world!. That, my friends is a great headline.

GOOD NEWS! Neighbor signs deal and gives up gun!! { I'm your neighbor and own several semiautomatic weapons, I threaten to shoot your children and their Grand Mother, but I'm going to promise to disarm if you start buying my gasoline} My, what an honest and nice child shooter and grandmother shooter I must be...and the devil will never tempt my rotten carcass again to get any more rifles etc so you'll pay my rent.....I NEVER SAW NOR READ OF A hostile international PROBLEM BEING SOLVED BY ONE NATION PURCHASING THE AGGRESSOR NATION'S WEAPONS! Gee, we could have
just bought ol' Kaiser Wilhelm's stuff, and Hitlers', and Israel could just bribe
the Palestinians to be nice -- gee, if only the smart journalists had told everyone before. How very nice. Pray, but don't make deals with the devil!
JFK didn't offer oil or anything else to the USSR on the Cuban missile deal.

You all may be hatching an egg too early - the North Koreans cannot be trusted, they are too eager to receive monies and supplies. What do they want next ? Maybe, the US help to support their military with planes, ships, and financial aid also. Come on, this type of diplomacy has failed at every turn in the past. Almost all countries that the US helps, show their gratitude by snubbing or betraying the US later. Hell with giving any country anything to be civil with its neighbors, we should aide countries that have similarities with ours instead. That's a good way to use my tax money - give to a country that wants to kill Americans. That is so stupid that I have a loss for words, in describing our foreign policies.

Bit early to pop the champagne when you read about former UN Anbassador John Bolton's response and his decision to ask the President to reject the deal.

John Bolton, former US ambassador to the United Nations, said North Korea should not be rewarded with "massive shipments of heavy fuel oil" for only partially dismantling its nuclear arsenal.

"It sends exactly the wrong signal to would-be proliferators around the world," Mr Bolton told CNN.

Carry on praying.

Only if they actually do it, I have my doubts, they signed agreements before and went right ahead with the nukes anyway. As far as the prayer thing goes, if you believe it fine we'll see how good it works with the Muslims/ Chinese/ Nigerians/ Russians/ Venezuela/ Sri Lanka etc., etc., etc.

Without getting into the power of prayer, I do have to say it is good news. But do not trust the North Koreans.

You had to PRAY? You realize N Korea is blackmailing the US into giving it millions of gallons of oil FREE every year in order for them to stop the process of acquiring nukes? Perhaps, instead of praying for peace, you should pray for intellect so you can see through political bull. Moron.
