i have been trying to have a baby almost 9 months one of my friends told me i need to talk to my doctor about a fasting insulin test and ih test and a fsh test and a post coital test what are they for? and my mom told me i am trying to much and hard is there such things should i only have sex once a week .wat has helped some of you thanks so much for any help i get!

Most specialists prefer you to have been trying for at least 12 months before they commence testing. The testing can be rather invasive but generally pretty thorough - if there is a problem they will find it with the many tests they have available. It may put your mind to rest that there is nothing wrong so you can be a bit more relaxed about trying naturally. I think you should be having sex every second day at the very most - the guy needs time to produce healthy swimmers!

Most Drs want you to have been trying to conceive for at least a year before going in for tests.
