If I sleep less than that, I am so tired all day that I can't think, and I just try not to fall asleep and can't enjoy anything. I am 19 years old, this isn't right. I did horrible last semester at college because I had to wake up at 6:45. I couldn't pay attention in class and would immediately go back to my dorm to sleep. I've tried going to bed early at night but my body won't let me sleep until around 10:30 at the absolute earliest. I just have to sleep through the morning there's no other solution, but why????? I know it's a waste of a day sleeping through half of it, but it's even more of a waste if I'm so tired during the awake part.

you're idiots and you didn't read what i said to you at all. thanks for nothing. Today i slept for 6 hours woke up at 8 then took a nap at 11 when i woke up again at 5 pm.

Many people have sleep problems, I would say you may have one.
I know epileptics sleep a lot, but you did not say anything about having seizures.
Could your diet not be so good? Being a student there must be a lot of stress?

You should get tested maybe for hepatitis.
You could have a condition that leaves you feeling drained and tired all the time - even stress, have you tried vitamins and minerals, even eating healthier like lots of vegetables.
It could be when you sleep, you don't get the full benefit of REM sleep. YOu might not sleep deep enough, or yo move and wake up quickly with out knowing.

My dear friend.
Ideal sleep hours are 7 (seven). There might be plus or minus one, more than that is waste of precious time of life. If you are sleeping late in night, make a habit to go bed earlier. There are fix cycles like REM and non-REM sleep. Each cycle runs for exact time. When you wake up and you are in REM cycle you like to go to bed again and that cycle with run every one and half hours.
Every one should make a healthy habit for sleep.
