Be honest. Be sincere. Be yourself. Ask them about themselves. Don't talk too much about yourself. Be polite and gentle. Show interest in them without being invasive. Make a few nice remarks about them but not so many that they will think you are insincere. Smile a lot and I am sure you will be fine. You will not look a total idiot believe me.

Roses are always nice if you have a woman in mind - or even better, a single red rose. Its not the fact that you buy things but just that you go out and make the effort to buy something/.
Otherwise just a man who will listen and ask questions about a women is very attractive - be interested in her. Men talking about themselves too much does no favours!
Good luck xxx

No point in being romantic on first meeting. She won't believe it. Just be interested in her and don't show off about yourself. Your own merits will become evident later when she starts getting interested in you! If you like the sort of things she is interested in, then suggest going somewhere or doing something she would really enjoy -- as long as you enjoy that sort of thing too. Good luck.
