When i was little i used to watch this japanese cartoon about a girl and her mother who traveled in a type of wagon and she had a dog named Baron. And her name was Perin. They were going to meet her grandfather. But on the way there, her mom gets sick and dies. So she reaches her grandfather, but she doesn't tell him who she is, and starts working at this factory while living inside a big tree (weeping willow) - somenthing like that!! hehe.. so i know a lot about the cartoon but i don't know what IT IS CALLED!! i'm going crazy.. hehe.. I JOINED THIS SITE JUST SO SOMEONE WOULD ANSWER THIS QUESTION FOR ME. :)

the title of the cartoon is Perinu Monogatari. ( story of Perin)

Don't mean to be critical, but "Alternative" has a point -- you sound like you could repeat every word of the cartoon, but's just a little odd the name escapes you. Have you tried googling "Japanese Cartoons circa ______"?

I looked and couldn't come up with anything. With the thosands of animes that Japan has made, the U.S. just got a sliver of them. I can't even find somebody selling it in English.
