Yes indeed, to choose an ideal career, you need to know what you are good at, most of the time you will enjoy yr work if you are good at it. There are mental works, and physical works, home based works, and office or company based works, there are also social works. If you enjoy and want to make this world a better place for the furture generation, you must go and join some social work group or org. If you are good with words and like to write about some subjects that you are interested to impart your knowledge to the world around then you can go for research and writing the subject of your interest. so on and so forth.... this information is just to look into some fields to start your serach for the best career sutable for you and you enjoy most as well.

What you DONT do is choose a career that you think pays the most money. After time you'll be dissapointed but stuck in a job that you don't like and probably can't afford to leave. Most hobbies don't generally make good careers, one exception probably being Photography but there's a lot of competition in that. Do some research, try reading about several different jobs in widely different fields, talk to people who do those jobs about the good and bad sides. Good Luck

Why not visit you local careers centre and speak to a careers adviser who can advise you on career and training options. Once you have talked through these options with your advisor you can then decide on a career best suited to your own likes and dislikes.

Often just by looking at the skills you already have and maybe some future training needs you will be surprised how many options will be open to you. With the right guidance, impartial advice and information making the right choices will be a whole lot easier.

Good luck for the future. Nettie UK lass

What interests you? What do you find easy / natural to do? Do you enjoy working with your hands? Do you enjoy being outdoors? Would you prefer an office environment, or something different? Are you better working in a team or do you prefer to be on your own? What are your goals in life? Will the job help you to achieve those?

Just think about what you enjoy doing and what sort of thing you would do or do now in your spare time. Then... base it around that. For example if you like programming or websites, you could go into that or if you enjoy photography - do that (that is my goal).

It is sometimes difficult however to do these things if you have a big mortgage and things (like me!! :( ) If you don't - just go for it!!!
