O.K. You can marry a foreigner in India only under the Foreigner Marriage Act, 1969 & neither under the Special Marriage Act, 1954 nor The Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 which applies to only the Indian citizens. All marriages solemnized under the aforesaid Act are registered marriages before the Marriage officer/registrar where the Indian Spouse usually resides, on the fulfillment of various conditions such age, matrimonial status, mental status, relationship between the parties etc. A months notice for such marriage is issued after you file application for such an intended marriage, a copy of which is affixed outside the marriage office & a second is sent to the country where the other party resides. On expire of one month, the parties to the marriage are married in presence of 3 adult witnesses if no objection is received by the marriage officer & a certificate is issued regarding this marriage. What all documents you require, proof of age of the parties, residence proof of both the parties, two set of passport photograph of both the parties plus that of all the 3 witnesses, proof of identity of all the 3 witnesses. For any further clarification send me direct email.

Anybody can select anything. When I was interested to fly by KLM Airlines, I got a Boeing 707 flight. Marriage has nothing to do with a person as it is an internal inspiration for the attraction of the likely hormons in the blood. It is not new to anybody. When I was interested to marry a Bengali girl and we loved each other very deeply, when the time came, she disclosed that she was engaged in her childhood and I had to give up.
Later I searched a girl who is least beautiful but obedient and now I lead the most happiest married life with two children. Try to overcome the time and surroundigs, which would solute yoru problem.

Go ahead and marry your sikh boyfriend if you are very sure of your love for each other. Btw, how does your bf feels about his family's rejection? Is he timid and does not "fight" back or he is just as adamant about marrying you? Consider his reactions too. Marriage is longterm...you have to be strong if you want your marriage to work. Especially without his family's blessing and support. Don't let your heart rule your head. Think carefully before reacting. Good luck.

What you need to do is give it time and be patient...it might help if you learn the customs and language so that when the time comes to be introduced to his family you can make a good first impression...BTW how does he feel about his family's rejection? How does your family feel about him? Remember that marriage is not something that should be thought of lightly if you truly love him then do everything in your power to marry him...I wish you both all the love in the world...May God bless you both

Better to forget and not to marry him if his parents are not ready. Go on searching, select a new one and marry. However the Indian law permits this marriage.
Indian parents like arranged marriages while youngesters prefer love marriages. Youngesters are free to flirt, roam and love anyone of their own choice but are bound to marry the spouse of their parents choice. Usually parents discard the past or current love/sex partner and get married to a stranger to start marital life blindly believing the spouse as the most innocent and unaware of love and sex. Boy's parents demand and receive huge cash, gold and silver and costly articles/clothes from girl's parents as dowry in arranged marriages. Despite it, further demands continue, wives are harassed & tortured mentally and physically. Sometimes wives are brutally killed or burnt to ashes to marry any wealthy girl with more dowry, despite stern laws.

I do not know of India but where I live if he wants to marry U and U are of proper age they can not stop U. What does your family say? Do it and send pictures to his family. send pictures of their grand kids. they should come around. Marriage is hard and even harder out of your religion and race. If you both are in love and can communicate to each other about every thing go for it.

Lear to read, speak and write Gurumukhi/Punjabi language (sikh language). Learn Sikh rituals, food preparations, sikh female dress (how to wear them) and sikh culture.
Meet boy family after that and I am sure that they will agree, but make it very fast. bye
