Hi, has anyone ever had their phone tapped into, or does anyone know what happens when this happens?

I think someone has tapped into my phone because sometimes when i'm having conversations with people this dialing tone comes on then i hear this mans voice.

Its happened a few times and is always the same voice?

Do you think my phone has been tapped into, how can i find out, what should i do.

Very worried right now!!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

This is my mobile i'm talking about, I can't think of any reason why someone would do this, but it always happens when i speak to the same person, and this is an international call. Dunno if this helps!

If you hear a dialling tone and can hear someone talking, this is due to :

(1) a cross line. ie your line and his line is somehow cross together electronically. He is not eavesdropping on you(why would he talk if he want to listen to you?). Call you local telephone company and they will be able to help you.
(2) if you are using a cordless phone, then both of you are on the same frequency (or channel). Check if your cordless phone allow you to select a different frequency. If yes, do so.

So much depends on where the phone is located, what kind of central switching station it works off, how many lines are serviced, and the age of the equipment. It is much more likely that you have a crossed wire or bad junction, than a tapped line. Then again, is there a reason someone would want to tap your line?

EDIT: You don't tap a mobile phone, per se; essentially the signal is just pulled out of the air. Are you calling to a land line, or a mobile number? What language is the voice, and is it possible it is a recorded message?
