best way to restore old sneakers?

ok so i bought the original 1985 air jordan 1s on ebay a while back and i wanted to try to restore them the midsoles are yellow and minor cracks on the top cusion.... anyway to get rid of the dirt and yellowing without damaging the shoe or repainting it i want it to be as original as it can without damaging it since its become more delicate, it its 22 year old shoe.. haha

go to a cobbler and ask him/her. If he/she says it's hopeless then your old sneakers have to go. and if they can restore them then thats good.
