Lyndon Johnson shook my hand in 1966. I do not qualify that as a meeting but it was a highlight at the time. He was a big dude, all Texan. I really didn't care for his politics or his escalation of the war in Nam. But felt great that got to touch his hand.

Yes, I have. I've met Jimmy Carter twice in California & NY, Bill Clinton three times, once in New York, and twice in Washington, DC, & George W. Bush in Washington. As for possible future presidents, I've met John McCain in NY at a Vietnam War memorial, Hillary Clinton in NY, and John Edwards in NY. I've met former VP Dan Quayle in NY, also.

Wish I could say that I had. The state I grew up in is predominately Republican, voting the same way every year since the dawn of mankind. The state I live in now is predominantly Democrat. I guess politicians see no need to visit states that are "in the bag." It would be nice though!

Yes, I met George W. Bush 2 years ago in Iowa. After his speech, I made it to the front where I got his autograph and a hug. I go Mr. President, may I please have a hug and he goes, of course and hugged me. It was really nice. The Secret Service guys were right there watching me close though, even though I'm harmless.

No, but I went to a rally for G.Bush 1. to listen to him speak. I was at the Forrest Summit meeting in Portland, Ore. when Clinton first took office and held the summit meeting promising the Forrest products industry that no jobs were going to be lost! Before the last election I went to a rally for G.Bush 2.

I met Laura Bush in San Diego in 2001 when she came to talk about her new reading program for schools. My ship hosted her speach on the fueling pier at the 32nd St Naval base.
That's as close as I've come.

I met three of them. Ronald Reagan came to my school, when I was a kid. I shook hands with Clinton, when he came to Bosina. I also shook hands with Bush, when he came to Ft Stewart. I also had the pleasure of meeting three governors of Georgia also-Joe Frank Harris, Zell Miller and Sonny Perdue.
