Don't let your suit sit around wet. I'd advise a mild soap hand-wash immediately after use to which you have added a few drops of a liquid you can buy at a pet-store that removes chlorine from the water in fish tanks. That should help to neutralize the chemicals that cause the suit to degrade over time. I used to put a few drops of it into my pool shampoo bottle as well to help get the drying chemicals out of my hair. It's probably the same chemical they put in the fancy swim shampoos, but less expensive to add it yourself. If you have washing machine you can simply use your spin cycle to remove excess water instead of wringing and then air dry it.
