I think Gwen Stefani is trying! Lots of fashions are 80s-inspired these days, but I doubt we'll ever dress as brightly as in the 80s/early 90s.

Neon colours are definately on their way back in at the moment, mostly in London, if you google nu rave/new rave/neu rave, you'll see what I'm on about. Designers like Christopher Kane, Cassette Playa, and t-shirt company House of Holland etc. and bands like Klaxons, New Young Pony Club, etc.
Other late 80's and early 90s fashion is also on the way back in, short highwaisted skirts, larger tops with tight bottoms, leggings, jumpsuits, "body conscious" dressing (like Addezine Alaia did back in the day), even in things like the Ray-Bans Wayfarer sunglasses are cool again.

definitely - it's just that it has appeared in a less potent form.
the muzzas are now wearing tight fluro coloured t-shirts with their jeans, you can buy those chunky as hell runners from nike and adidas, and o my god people are wearing leggings again - i've seen quite a few girls wear black leggings with a huge white t-shirt, big sunglasses, messy hair and white sneakers (like my mum did.)
When the multi-coloured fleece jacket (like the ones i used to wear as a kid) comes back in i will have hit the jackpot - i'll be at the top of the fashion food chain without ever spending a dime.
One thing i haven't really seen is early 90's grunge look - things are more emo these days.
