Ericson is not good, i have no idea why sony tied up with them.
Nokia is dependable.

Which cell phone is best depends on what are the features the user is looking for and his budget.
if the user like a user friendly mobile, then any day nokia is the one. also nokia has handsets from Rs.1500 to Rs.2 lakh
Sony Ericsson in some models, the music clarity and the picture clarity is very good and the PDAs are the better in Sony than in Nokia but Nokia also has come up with N series where the music and camera quality is good.
Pls. specify the budget and ur required features for a more specific answer.

i think both are the best. but it depends on you as which of the system of using you find it comfortable. in nokia N-73(1 GB) n in sony w800 and k-290i is best.

Puni, Both NOKIA and SONY ERICSSON is good. It is your choice, what you are exactly looking. Like you are looking mobile with dual camera, gaming, 3G etc.
First define your budget. Visit mobile shop. Compare price with future yourself. And decide your self.

it depend upon how will u use it as a user. weder it is for fashion or just a business, or just only for fun, or love one, or just collection or any matter. it depent how you will deal with it as long as it fit you and your pocket.
