Okay, I am Christian and even from my stand point of personally believing that God is the almighty and the only God; I don't see any good that preaching to Athiests about how they are wrong, will go to hell, so forth, does.
The way to make someone see a point, in my opinion, is to have a civilized conversation where you both state your points and agree on some while agree to disagree on others. Personal choices wont be changed over the internet, so why badger people and make the verbal fighting worse than it already is? And to those who are just trying to live their lives like me, does it get on your nerves that just because of what you believe in you get lumped in with the extremist and called every name under the sun when you try to show that they (which ever side) is being the bigot they themselves are accusing another group of being? I can't stand it, there is more to life then fighting over who is right and who is wrong on every issue in the world. Can't people grow up and talk?

Is society part of the problem with how we as humans act towards one another? It could be ... but is it possible that how we act, which influnces society when enough speak up one way or another is the root of it?

The Bible warns us Christians to "abstain from the appearance of evil". All too often, you're right, Christians get into these internet sparring matches with atheists and the result... absolutely nothing changes... that we can see... what we can't see is that person sitting at home online who had been thinking about giving his life to Christ and after perusing Y!A, discovering that Christians "appear to be" as evil - mean spirited - as everyone else... so that person figures... why bother??? so... a soul lost because some Christians... who obviously are very zealous... could not come up with a gentler approach to responding to atheistic attacks. (Didn't the Bible also say a soft answer turns away wrath?)

As for being lumped in with extremist, don't worry too much about the lumpers and the lumping... if they take time to get to know you, they will recognize your individual... not as part of a group against which they are prejudiced. As for my part... I'm use to the name calling.... but you're right, it starts to sting after a while.

Perhaps when we as a society can learn to engage in intelligent conversation, with the understanding that we are not always going to agree... THEN people can grow up and talk.

some are brilliant communicators and adept on the paintings of speaking understanding to the lots. Others much less so. As in all issues. Such Is existence. to locate a clergyman or preacher regionally interior your neighbourhood, or chancing upon one whom you may relate to or who appeals, is a blessing in itself. I certainly have a tendency to criricise various what they say. which isn't solid. An open strategies, a heat heart and supplicated soul are necessary to absord any expertise surprisingly Gods. We dont bless one yet another anymore. no longer 'solid day' or have a outstanding day' or 'take care'. It speaks plenty some society while it ceases to choose nicely upon itself, if purely as a count of polite verbal substitute. I continually smile and need nicely those that i'm inspired to, and its very infectious, human beings illuminate, and smile beamingly, and being kind to a minimum of one yet another will become recurring, 2nd nature... I think the best way to lead is by example in real life not over the internet.
