You and him have to go get tested (can be done seperately). I don't know when in the pregnancy it can be done, but it can. He has to pay I think

Yes, there are DNA testing options available during pregnancy but not this early.

Since I am not sure where you are in the world, and the laws around this vary quite considerably between states and countries, I can only give you an understanding from a medical perspective.

The earliest they could do one would be at around 10-11 weeks, when they can start testing for genetic abnormalities.

There are two types of genetic testing done prior to birth that give information baout a baby's DNA - one is called Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS) which can be done during weeks 10-13 of the pregnancy. The other is Amniocentesis, which can be done effectively during weeks 14-20.

Both tests can give information suitable for paternity testing. However, both tests carry a weighted risk of miscarriage and may have side effects.

Ask your doctor or clinic for more information.

Yes you can perform a DNA test during pregnancy, but I am not sure how early. My friend got a girl pregnant, but wasn't sure at first. She had a complication during pregnancy in her 3rd month and required an amniocentisis. At the time of the amnio they were able to get DNA material to perform the paternity test. I hope everything works out for you. You should speak with your ob/gyn.

On the show "Boston Legal" that aired last Tuesday the woman lawyer got pregnant and somehow had a paternity test done. It showed her getting a DNA sample from each guy then soon afterwards telling them which one was the father. I know it is just a tv show but is one of those "ripped from the headlines" shows, so maybe it is possible if you are willing to pay a lot or have connections or then again maybe it is just a tv show.

DNA tests that are done while your still pregnant are extremely expencive and court order wont cover it. If you get a DNA test threw a court order then they wait until after the child is born. If you realllly want to do it and pay the money then just look it up in a search engine.

Not likely. The testing can be done but no doctor would attempt to draw blood from an unborn fetus unless it was a possible medical complication or emergency.

They won't do it just to establish paternity.

You CAN have an amnio, but there is a risk of miscarriage if you do it too early. Keep in mind you have to have DNA samples for the doctor to compare. Are you prepared to ask these men for samples?

not sure how soon but fairly sure not in the first month. I'm sure you'll be seeing all kinds of health care people soon. Confide in one of them and they'll give you all the options. In the meantime, become withdrawn, "I'm not sure I should burden you with the responsibility", etc, etc then when you know who, go from there. good luck. (but talk to your doctor and get a timetable before you make any solid plans)

No. Perternity testing can't be done untill after the baby is born. BUT if it's for you, and a different situation, you can.
