Do it yourself. its not difficult, doesn't take long, and you know the job is done right. In particular, I don't trust any mechanic I can't watch - especially if he's being paid minimum wage. It takes me about 30 mins, including the tome it takes to clean up after. A lot of those places don't use the correct oil, either. Your car may require 5W-40, but all they have is 10W-30, since they buy the cheapest, generic brand they can find, and in bulk. They won't tell you this, of course.
Of course, some of these places can be trusted - but I don't want to find out the hard way which ones they might be!

If your price was competitive ( I pay 18 dollars at walmart), and you did all of our fleet vehicles in one shot ( 4 vehicles), and I could write one check for all, and you would call or come by on a regular basis,( not too often, just when we need a service) I would pay a few dollars more for your services. If you kept track of our vehicles, and would send a statement or summary of what was done when, and would gaurantee your work, ( a freind just got a new motor out of someplace she took her car, cause they left the drain plug out, or loose) that would be a good deal. and if you would carry extra, incidental supplies, like wiper blades, radiator caps, light bulbs, headlamps, etc., so we didnt have to take the time to do those things ourselves. I would like that. But as far as my personal vehicles, no, I always do my own tune up, repairs, and oil changes.

It doesn't matter. All oil and lube shops employ entry level newbies that are willing to work for $6/hr. Just make sure you watch them work. They tend to be more careful when the customer is watching. And make sure they replace the oil plug and check the oil level before you leave the shop.

Best wishes....But,
I have used WALLMART "TIRE-LUBE-EXPRESS" for a few years now and would not go back to any other Business.1.$price is lower, 2.service has always been "honest" and fast, i have checked out various work done on my cars from them and have yet to complain.
I always recommend friends and others to try them out.
But best wishes though....i had shady experiences with other "lube places" and wont go back.

I like quick lube cuz I can stand right there and make sure they do the work. Walmart is kind of hard to monitor cuz I do not trust any mechanics, I can not see.
