this young generation has no respect for themselves or anyone else. born out of neglect, taught nothing but instant gratification through temper tantrums and misguided notions of how the world should revolve around themselves.
you should be worried about the future; since these children will one day attemp to run the "real" world. no morals, virtues, or discipline will they own. just i-pods, 20" rims and rap sheets a mile long.

I have no idea what that programme was, but I do have some experience of schools.
Go to an average comprehensive; sure, there will be some studious students there, but the majority are average to say the least and do NOT have a great work ethic. The majority of their energy is spent on mobile phones and socialising.
However, go to a private school and the difference is palpable. There is virtually 100% work ethic, the students are more polite and respectful and there is great emphasis on sport, at which the students tend to excel.
It is a dilemma because, quite clearly, most parents cannot afford to send their children to private schools.
The lesson to be learnt is that, if private schools are SO good, and schools in the public sector are so mediocre, the government needs to analyse why and do something about it. It costs almost as much to put a child through both - the difference is one is privately funded and the other publicly; parents who send their children to private schools effectively pay twice.
Instead of moaning about those who are privately educated you should envy them because, without a shadow of a doubt, on average they are going to over-achieve to the n'th degree.
I know where I would prefer my MPs to come from - someone who has a superb education and knows how to write in English. Thus, if a private schoolboy had written your question, it would read:
"Why are public school-boys such a bunch of thugs?
I was watching "Great British Holidays" last night. The scary thing is they are the future MPs ..........."

m c there is a difference between a movie and a documentary, there is also a difference in meaning of the word public when used to define schools in the UK compared to the USA. Here in Britain a public school is what you would call a private school. Did you even read where the OP said "great BRITISH holidays"?
Most teenagers will behave like thugs if they think they can get away with it, then they grow up.
From Tacitus to present day writers, outrage with youth has been normal, but somwhow we all grow up in the end and turn into adults.
As for these boys being future MP's, well anyone who thinks an ex public school boy represents their interests is welcome to vote for them but there are other canditates available.

All Public school boys are no more a bunch of thugs than private school boys. You learn this from a MOVIE?? You really think that movies are true? No one ever explain to you that movies are made up stories, played by actors and actresses, for entertainment. Guess you are what, about 10 years old. Guess your parents does not know your own this site, stating crazy things that are not true. You really need to stop watching movies until you grow up enough to know the difference in a movie and real life.

Public schools exist to foster a homosexual bond between the children of the elite. They are bonded through same-sex sex and then told they exist to rule the world and to lord over the rest. That is why they turn into thugs. You would too if you were getting didled by the teachers and older boys while being told to become a ruler.

Double standards in action.
working class misbehaviour = drunken louts.
upper class misbehaviour = high jinks & spirited youth.

2 reasons:
They are spoiled brats.
Their parents are bullies who think they are better than you or I and they learn from this behaviour.
