Because Hip Hop comes & goes. You know the name of the artists this week but next week it will be someone new. Rock has survived the ages, it will always be there and there is so much history!

Personal Taste. I am not saying that Hip-Hop/Rap isn't Music. By all means it is. I just don't have a huge taste for it. I absolutely Love, Runaway Child by Ludacris (I believe that is the Song title) but I like rock cause it has more Variety. You have Metal, Soft, Alternative, Indie, Grunge, EMO, Pop, Heavy Metal, Classic. The other you have: R&B, Hip-Hop, Rap. That is it. Not too much variety. And a ton of Swearing. I am not into a bunch of swearing. And Definitely don't want to hear about gangs and Rape and the like.

Because you're cool enough to be yourself and not like hip-hop just because it's in right now.
Also, because rock songs are much better, it doesnt take any talent at all to sing hip-hop (and don't get me wrong i love hip hop!) it's just the quality of rock is so much better.

Personal taste.I myself love hip-hop, and like rock. Just not as much :-) I LOVE hip-hop dancing and hip-hop dancers! Rock dancers however- kind of lame. If there is such a thing?

Rock can go into different directions.
Hip Hop cannibalizes itself. It's permanently stuck in a rut.

maybe its because hip hop sucks and rock is definitely better music.. i dont listen to hip hop music either.. its crap..
