I personally would not fly at 8 months. I was asked to fly with my employers at 18 weeks and I said no, for the fear that something might happen and I would be away from my doctor's, the baby's pediatrician, and the hospital I would deliver at. To me personally it's not a risk I was willing to take. You would be flying over water... what if something were to happen, God forbid, you would feel awful! I just don't think that the risks are worth the outcome. Also, I would worry about the pressure being up that high and being pregnant. If you really want to go... I would look up the risks on the internet and see what could possibly happen, besides the obvious, such as possible child birth etc... Good luck!!

yes as long as there are no complications with the pregnancy i flew at 5 months gone and i was fine just to be safe you should consult your doctor or midwife first they will be able to tell you. also check with the airline as they all have different cut off dates for flying when pregnant.. if u do fly dont stay sat down on the flight too long as it can cause pains in your legs
good luck.

I had the same question at my Dr. appt. today. He said airlines prefer it if you don't fly past the 30 week mark, but as long as you have your doctor's approval, it should be fine. Depending on the length of the flight, it is not safe to sit still for too long. Be prepared to walk the aisles to keep blood flowing, which shouldn't be a problem cause if you're anything like me, you're peeing every 5 minutes anyway.

Depending on your destination and time frame that you are leaving, you should talk to your doctor before you fly. Airlines won't let you be on the flight after 32 weeks. I flew to Burma from Taiwan after 6 months pregnant.
Before you get on the board, check with your doctor about your health, the baby's heatlh and if you have certain conditions to discuss with your doctor..
If you are travelling From USA to other thrid world countries, i advice you to avoid food that could harm you and the baby. Eat fresh and clean food. Try not to eat the food from street fairs. Take rest as much as you can. Do not get yourself tired. Take prenatals vitamins regularly. If you feel sick, go to the clinc to see the doctor as soon as possible.
PS: if you have small tummy, the airline staffs will hardly notice that you are pregnant or will think just got pregnant.

Yes. Most airlines will allow travel until the end of the 32nd week. Others, such as British Airways, allow pregnant women to travel until the end of their 36th week. A letter stating the woman is fit to fly is required after 28 weeks.

Safe, not sure. But you can fly untill your two weeks till your due date. It also depends on the airline your flying. Some won't let you, and some need a doctor's note.

Unless you have some type of medical condition, I don't see why not. I flew at 5 and at 7 months pregnant, I saw my doctor before and after my flights. I would suggest that she gets an ailse seat so that she can walk up the ailse for circulation.

Yes, it is okay provided things are normal and there is no complications. U may take advise from the family doctor or doctor treating u. I have seen cases where passengers more advanced in pregnancy have flown. There are cases of delivery on board the aircraft. The airhostess are trained to handle such cases.

The general rule of thumb for a healthy woman is you can fly during the first and second trimesters but not the third.
