another random shooting in a shopping area. Police doing stops at gun point. Los Angeles gang capital of the world. In England police dont use guns people cant keep them at home resulting in less fatalities. Why are the Americans still allowed guns at home.

The Bills of Rights is great, but the real reason Americans won't be losing their right to bear arms is thanks to what we like to call lobbyists. Politicians in Washington are indebted to lobbyists for the NRA (and many, many other lobbys as well) for various donations & campaign contributions over the years & because of that, the lobbyists more or less run the country.

So the reason that Americans will always be allowed to carry guns... The NRA wants it that way. (There's not much money for a Rifle Association if no one in the country can carry guns.)

I also liked another answer though that pointed out how law-abiding gun owners are not the ones going into random places & shooting everyone up. Those are the nutjobs, criminals & sickos who are already not supposed to be carrying weapons to begin with. Restricting gun ownership would simply take away the law abiding citizens means to protect themselves.

"If guns are outlawed, only the outlaws will have guns."

Absolutely not. We have the right to bear arms under the constitution of this country. We have enough govt. involvement in our lives. The old saying that if you outlaw guns then only the outlaws will have guns is true.Everything the govt. tries to regulate the "bad" guys have. Drugs are illegal yet some people make millions on them every year. That's why Hillary being elected to the Presidency will be so catastrophic. She will among other things try to press taking our guns away from us.

Statistics show that gun ownership and the laws letting Americans keep and purchase guns is not in any way related to an increase in crime. Actually, in the United States it is proven to reduce crime as with the town of Kennesaw Georgia. Kennesaw has the nickname of "Gun Town, USA" due to a city ordinance passed in 1982 that requires every head of household to maintain a firearm with ammunition. Criminologists attribute a drop of 89% in the residential burglary rate to the law.

their - not there guns...

we have something called a constitution and a bill of rights. the second amendment gives us the right to keep and bear arms... this is to allow us to protect ourselves against other people, other countries, and our own government - if necessary...

and you think that making guns illegal would reduce shootings? hmmm... drugs are illegal but that really doesn't stop anyone... gay sex is illegal in georgia - have you ever been to atlanta or savannah? this didn't work in australia, why would it work in the us?

that would just make honest, law abiding people easy targets.

you do it your way, and we'll do it our way...

Law-abiding, honest people who own guns know how to use them and how to store them properly. Criminals don't follow laws; what makes you think they would follow a law that would tell them to give up their guns or not get guns? You might as well let the law-abiding citizens have them so they can protect themselves against the criminals who have them. There's a bumper sticker that says, "Criminals prefer unarmed victims."

I can make a weapon out of a microwave oven or a television set and cause all your amunition to ignite. It is not really about the weapons,it is about people who crave to use them.

Too many fools own guns in USA. Innocents are less likely to be killed in a drive by baseball batting!

Canada took away the guns from their citizens and all types of crime went up the next year. Australia took away their citizens guns and all crime increased the next year. Next question.
