people over react when it comes to animals and pg I have 13 nephews and neices and everyone in my family has both dogs and cats and all my nephews and neices are fine as are my sisters. If you have a cat, just use the sand clumping dust free litter.... I even have a self scooping litter box all I do is pull out the tray.

Either is ok, except you do not want to empty the litter box while pregnant, someone else needs to do that. Also, you might want to rethink having a pet at this time. A pet needs a lot of attention, just like a baby. Having a baby is going to take up most of your time and patience. It may not be fair to the dog.

Toxoplasmosis is a concern from cats. However, it's only a problem if you don't already have it and catch it while pregnant. If you get tested for toxoplasmosis and already have it (many people do), you can't catch it again and don't have to worry about cat litter.

cats are bad because changing the litter box can give you hystoplasmosis and its very dangerous, also if the dog has worms it can be a huge danger, so make sure the dog has been wormed by a vet. so you are sure and it stays inside, if you plan on keeping it worm free or you worm it monthly.

yes it is ok to have a dog or cat while you are pregnant! i got 3 hyper dogs!! but if you have a cat you have to watch out for their poo!! there is something in their poo that causes birth defects to babies! soo if you have a cat i suggest having your partner clean the litter box for you! and if you have to do it! wear gloves and wash you hands right after!

i am 34 wks pregnant and have both dog and cat which is fine just do not clean their mess up! and after do not let the cat in baby's bedroom as they can smoother the baby!!
