In C Programming the range of char is number .why are use the range in number because this is the char?

actually the c-lang is created such that every thing is classified and the only way to classify diff things is by numbers so for every data type the ranges are given such that every letter,symbol is classified and easily understood.

"char" is 1 byte long (8 bits). it doesnt really matter if you use it for a number or letter, its just 8 bits, and can represent anything. its range is shown in numbers, because thats the max number of different combinations that it can have. 0 to 255, or -128 to 127. whatever the case, the max different combinations is 256.
