The best way to clean cd's and dvd's is to wipe the disk with alcohol to clean it. Then apply a polish, we use and I use it at home, tire polish from a your local grocery store. What happens is that when a disk gets scratched the "eye" won't go cleanly over the disk. When you polish the disk, the polish gets in the grooves and the eye then is able to cleanly glide over the place where it was scratched. We have noticed that disks will play with scratches better than dirty ones. So always clean your disk before putting it in the dvd player...or cd player. Also, if your art on top of the disk is scratched usually the disk is gone. The eye will reads through the art and will not read it if it is scratched on top, another hint...is the bottom is acrylic. So when you place the disk upside down to keep it from scratching the bottom is wrong. It is better to place it on the bottom because of the art thing. Just a few hints...hope this helps
